Gold Humanism Honor Society Reward Recipient
The Gold Humanism Honor Society recognizes students, residents and faculty who are exemplars of compassionate patient care and who serve as role models, mentors, and leaders in medicine. Members are peer nominated and are the ones that others say they want taking care of their own family. Since its inception in 2002, Gold Humanism Honor Society has grown in influence to become a vital part of medical school and residency training program cultures throughout the US.

Terence Hughes is a kind and considerate person who is incredibly organized and willing to put forth an inspiring amount of effort in coming up with holistic ways of taking care of his patients. Terence consistently showed grace when taking care of patients and talking about their cases. He is constantly thinking about the psychosocial factors affecting his patients and the medical system, and the way he delivers care and talks about patients actively mitigates those factors. Terrence walks the walk of advocacy for his patients as well as his peers. He involves himself with organizations and groups that are meant to dismantle inequities in healthcare and healthcare education and encourages his classmates to think more critically about their role in our society and in improving healthcare for everyone. With that, we would like to acknowledge and congratulate Terence.
