Elizabeth Magill

Gold Humanism Honor Society Reward Recipient

The Gold Humanism Honor Society recognizes students, residents and faculty who are exemplars of compassionate patient care and who serve as role models, mentors, and leaders in medicine. Members are peer nominated and are the ones that others say they want taking care of their own family. Since its inception in 2002, Gold Humanism Honor Society has grown in influence to become a vital part of medical school and residency training program cultures throughout the US.

Here’s what Elizabeth's peers had to say about their humanistic care in medicine:

Liza, also known as Elizabeth Magill, is a remarkable medical student who has made significant contributions to patient care and healthcare improvement. Her compassionate and empathetic approach to patient care has had a positive impact on patients especially with complex psychiatric issues. Liza's dedication to improving the standard of care led to her appointment as the Student Director of EHHOP, where she spearheaded the development and management of a new consult program for mental health screening and triage, expanding mental health services to patients. Her peers a truly impressed with Liza's patient-centered approach. They notice she takes time to build individual relationships with patients which makes for a profound impact on their experiences. She also displays strong advocacy skills, spending hours on the phone to ensure a patient's access to needed care. Liza's accomplishments extend beyond her clinical work.
