Elizabeth Clifton

Gold Humanism Honor Society Reward Recipient

The Gold Humanism Honor Society recognizes students, residents and faculty who are exemplars of compassionate patient care and who serve as role models, mentors, and leaders in medicine. Members are peer nominated and are the ones that others say they want taking care of their own family. Since its inception in 2002, Gold Humanism Honor Society has grown in influence to become a vital part of medical school and residency training program cultures throughout the US.

Here’s what Elizabeth's peers had to say about their humanistic care in medicine:

Elizabeth Clifton, or better known by her peers as Beth, interactions with patients shows a remarkable level of mindfulness and consideration. She deeply cares about every single one of her patients and develops a strong bond with them and their family. Beth puts so much into her relationships with her patients. Her peers note that she goes out of her way to connect with them, get them what they need, and gushes about them. Beth embodies a spirit of generosity. She is completely present when she listens to patients and colleagues and uplifts the environment with her chipper attitude. Not only does Beth have a way of making people feel valued, which is healing in and of itself, she demonstrates compelling thoughtfulness about health equity. Especially inclusivity amongst the transgender and intersex communities. With that, we would like to acknowledge and congratulate Beth.
